I???ve Got a Song: A Living History of the McCarthy Era will be held at the Weaver Library on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 7pm.??

Conceived and performed by Nancy Hood, Mezzo Soprano, I???ve Got a Song is a compelling concert program that depicts the author???s childhood experiences of growing up in a leftist family during the McCarthy Era.

Complementing the stories is a selection of protest songs that range in style and origin from spirituals to union songs to a haunting love song written for the Rosenbergs.

Musician Barry Brown narrates and accompanies Ms. Hood on guitar. A backdrop of slides and newspaper clippings completes this living history lesson that spans the mid-1940s through the early 1960s.
