SLATER MEMORIAL PARK
The Pawtucket Parks & Recreation Division will be conducting a summer camp program for Pawtucket residents only to be held at Slater Memorial Park starting Wednesday, July 5 through Friday, August 11 for children ages 6 through 13.??
The summer camp program will be conducting two three-week sessions this summer from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.?? The first session will take place from Tuesday, July 5 through Friday, July 21.?? The second session will begin on Monday, July 24 and continue through Friday, August 11.?? There will be a cost of $15. per child, per session.?? 220 children have the option to attend both sessions while an additional 40 children will be given the option of session one only or for session number two only.?? Parents are urged to plan accordingly in lieu of family vacations or events when a child is unable to attend a complete session.
Registrations for those interested in attending will not be accepted until Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Slater Park Pavilion.?? After May 6, they will be accepted at the Slater Park Office as space allows on a first come ??? first registered basis.?? The registration and payment must be submitted in person, along with the following two items showing proof of residency in Pawtucket.?? These two required items are a driver???s license and a progress report or report card received from the camper???s Pawtucket school at any point during the school???s calendar year (September 2016- June 2017).?? Further details regarding these requests are available in the Slater Park summer camp packet.?? Parents should review these guidelines prior, as no substitution will be accepted for registering their child.????

Click onto ???Departments??? followed by ???Parks & Recreation??? followed by ???Forms, Flyers and Documents??? and lastly, ???Application ??? Camper Brochure???.?? Starting May 8, registrations will also be available at the Slater Park Office lobby, Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
??Starting May 8, applications will also be available to Pawtucket residents 16 years of age or older for limited summer counselor employment opportunities.?? Two current vacancies for certified lifeguards must be filled as well to work at the Veteran???s Park pool.?? These employment applications are available at the Slater Park Office located at 825 Armistice Boulevard.?? All openings will be filled on May 26 through a lottery drawing process.??
??If selected, you will be contacted with instructions for completing additional paperwork.?? Applicants 18 years of age or older who are selected, will also require a BCI check that will be facilitated through the City of Pawtucket.?? There are several openings for non-paying ???counselor-in-training??? positions for candidates 14 or 15 years of age.?? A ???CIT??? notation should be included on the application if interested.??
