ROBOTICS FOR KIDS @WEAVER LIBRARY
Saturday, May 12, 10:30-11:30 for kids in grades 2-4
Meet the library???s robots! Use block-based coding language to create detailed behavior for our Dash robots.?? Work together to explore the robots??? lights, sounds, sensors, and movements.

PROJECT CHICK @WEAVER LIBRARY
Since April 19, the Weaver Library has been incubating a clutch of Dominique and Rhode Island Red eggs in the Children???s Room.?? Around May 9-10, the eggs will hatch at the library. We will keep the chicks in a coop in the Children???s Room for about a week and then return them to the farm.?? Children and adults are welcome to visit the chicks while they are at the Weaver Library.
As part of their service learning curriculum, Gordon School 8th graders will be providing the following programs for preschoolers at all East Providence Libraries during the month of May:

Ages 2 ??+
Listen to stories about chickens, sing and dance, and meet our new chicks.
Registration is not required.?? Caregivers are required to stay with their children.
- MUSIC & MOTION @FULLER CREATIVE LEARNING CENTER
Mondays, May 14 & 21, 9:30-10:15 for ages 2 & 3 and 10:30-11:15 for ages 4 & 5
In this 2 week program, children will be enjoying music and motion as we??explore drums, different dances, songs, and much more, followed by a??craft!

- BEE BOT ROBOTICS @WEAVER LIBRARY
Tuesdays, May 22 & 29 ??? 9:30-10:00 & 10:30-11:00
Bee Bots are exciting little robots designed for use by young children. These easy to operate and friendly robots are a perfect tool for teaching directionality, sequencing, and problem solving, and for having fun. Children love to teach the robots how to go from place to place and learn while they do.

Take a turn reading to our adorably furry friend Daniel the Cocker Spaniel. Reading aloud to therapy dogs can help children who struggle with reading.??

READING BUDDIES
The library matches volunteers, ages 13-adult, with elementary school children to read together for one hour each week at the library.?? For more information, call or stop into the Weaver Library (434-2453).

Kids 16 and younger can ???pay??? their overdue fines by reading in the library.?? Just tell a librarian before you start reading, and when you finish reading, and we will waive $1 for every 30 minutes of reading.
