UPCOMING 2018 NEA BIG READ EVENTS

ATTLEBORO ??? Self-compassion and healing after loss, major themes in the NEA Big Read this year ???Five Skies,??? will be discussed at a special workshop Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Community VNA on Emery Street.

The session, ???Five Tools for Healing Grief, Guilt and Loss,??? will run 5:30-7:30 p.m. and be led by VNA professionals.

On the lighter side, ???Five Guys, Five Skies??? on Thursday, Oct. 4, will be an open discussion of the book by five local men at the Skyroc Brewery on Riverbank Road.

Participating will be Carleton Legg, executive director of the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum; Irwin Krause, a Sun Chronicle columnist; David Lee Black, an artist; Rick Gariepy, a devotee of star gazing, and Rusty D???Arconte, retired publisher of The Sun Chronicle and Big Read co-chairman. Refreshments are sponsored by Bristol County Savings Bank.

On Saturday, Oct. 6, Dr. Ray Guillette and Dave Bliss will lead a two-hour morning walk through Downtown Attleboro to search for and photograph letters and numbers hidden in the architecture of local buildings. It will be 8:30-10:30 a.m. and starts at the Attleboro Public Library.
