RISCA: 2019 AIRPORT GALLERY WINNERS

The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) announced today that artists have been selected for the 2019 exhibitions at the Block Island Airport Gallery on Block Island and GREEN SPACE Gallery at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick.

The Block Island Airport Gallery will present works by Dan Lake (East Greenwich), Jim Gwiazdzinski (Westerly), Pamela Grills (Westerly) and Elizabeth O’Connor (East Greenwich). Artists will be featured in four solo exhibitions during the course of the year.

 

The GREEN SPACE Gallery at T.F. Green Airport will present the work of Susan Matthews (Jamestown), Ayumii Ishi (Pawtucket), May Babcock (Pawtucket), Eveline Luppi (Warwick), Judd Schiffman (Providence), Stacey Messier (Exeter), Luke Randall (Saunderstown), Philip Gibson (Providence) and Earle Thurber (Scituate).

 

The Airport Galleries collectively received more than 75 applications from artists.  Exhibitors for the Block Island Airport Gallery were selected by students from the Block Island High School’s visual arts program. Exhibitors for GREEN SPACE were chosen by panelists David Barnes, Jodie Mim Goodnough and Saberah Malik. RISCA would like to thank all of the panelists for lending their time and expertise in support of these public art initiatives.

The Airport Galleries, a partnership between the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and the Rhode Island Airport Corporation, promote outstanding work of notable Rhode Island artists in exhibitions throughout the year.
