PAWTUCKET – Mayor Donald R. Grebien and numerous volunteers served almost 200 residents at the Annual Mayor’s Holiday Dinner. Volunteers consisted of representatives in the City Council, state delegation, federal delegation, and community advocates.

“This year’s Holiday Dinner was a huge success,” said Mayor Grebien. “There is something very special about sharing smiles, laughs and food with members of the community with such a huge cross section of people from the community. I thank all of the volunteers who were present yesterday as well as all of the businesses whose generous contribution s made the event a success.”

The Mayor’s Holiday Dinner was established over two decades ago as a way for all members of the Pawtucket community to get together and enjoy each other’s company over food provided through the generosity of businesses in Pawtucket.

The free event was held this year at Holy Family Church located at 195 Walcott Street in Pawtucket.

The Holiday Dinner has always enjoyed the company of a guest wait staff and this year was no different.

Joining Mayor Grebien as guest servers were Congressman David Cicilline, staff from Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s and Lt. Governor Dan McKee’s office, East Providence Mayor-elect Bob Silva, Councilman Wildenhain, Councilor Vitali, Councilor Barry, Councilor Araujo, Senator Cano, Rep. Messier, Rep. Johnston, and Leon Mathieu Senior Center Director Mary Lou Moran.

Also in attendance were School Committee member Erin Dube and member-elect Roberto Moreno as well as numerous members of Mayor Grebien’s administration.

Traditional holiday cuisine was served at the dinner including; turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing and cranberry sauce. An assortment of pastries, cakes and deserts were also provided through the generosity of local Pawtucket establishments. All local businesses who supported the event can be seen below.
