COLTS – COACHES – ROSES

Sculpture and Gardens Tour at Linden Place Mansion

Guided Sculpture and Gardens Tour at Linden Place Mansion this September

Take advantage of late summer weather with a special guided tour focused on the statuary, outbuildings and gardens at Linden Place, the 1810 Federal-style mansion located in downtown Bristol.

Explore the historic Linden Place sculpture and rose gardens while you learn the history of the man who developed the property as we see it now, Samuel Pomeroy Colt.

Hear the stories behind the Greco-Roman statuary, view the 200-year old coach and garage and learn the legend of the “rampant colts” that are scattered throughout the lawns.

Discover the direct ties between Linden Place and Colt State Park and learn some of the beloved park’s background. As you tour the grounds, you will have a chance to appreciate the 200-year-old mansion from a different view.

The tour will take place on Saturday, September 14th at 11 am. Admission is $12, $10 for seniors and students and includes admission to Linden Place Mansion. Reservations are recommended.  Call (401)253-0390 to reserve a spot or e-mail info@lindenplace.org

Friends of Linden Place is a non-profit organization responsible for the restoration and preservation of the historic house museum at 500 Hope Street in Bristol, Rhode Island, and for the promotion of cultural, artistic, and educational programs in the community.
