RULES: SNOW PARKING BAN

Pawtucket Issues Locations and Rules for Snow Parking Ban

MAYOR DONALD J. GREBIEN

Pawtucket– The City of Pawtucket has issued rules for a snow ban parking advisory that would take effect in the event of a snowstorm, including a list of public parking locations where residents may leave their vehicles while on-street parking bans are in effect.

“Together, we can help the Department of Public Works ensure that our roads are clear and safe during and after a storm by being aware of the protocols during a parking ban and the available options for parking, said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “Understanding that this is a partnership, keep our cars off of the street will allow for our plows to be more effective and efficient. We thank all of our residents in advance for their cooperation.”

The City of Pawtucket will typically declare a winter storm emergency if there is a forecast of two or more inches of snow. Once a winter storm emergency has been declared, an on-street parking ban will be put into effect on all city streets and all vehicles must be moved off the street at that time.

Parking bans will be posted on local radio and television broadcasts and on the city website at www.pawtucketri.com. Residents can also call the police station at 401-727-9100 and dial ext. 888 on the auto attendant to check on a parking ban.
