BRUCE BIERHANS TAKES HELM AT WOMR

Two new board members come on board as well after six years of  successful leadership by Ira Wood

Provincetown, MA, December 9, 2019: A newly organized board of directors has taken its place at Lower Cape Communications, the nonprofit announced today.

The community radio station held its annual meeting on Saturday, 23 November, during which the nominating committee’s slate was ratified. In addition, three incumbents were re-elected to the board of directors: Marcy Feller of Provincetown, Mark Adams of Truro, and Dave Wilber of Chatham. New board members were elected to fill two vacant seats: Eli Ingraham of Provincetown and Boston, and Barbara Blaisdell of Provincetown and Vermont.

At the first board meeting following the annual meeting, Bruce A. Bierhans Esq. was elected board president, and Marcy E. Feller was elected board vice-president. Tony Pierson and Sandra Hem-McMahon were re-elected to continue as treasurer and clerk.

“We want to express special thanks to our outgoing president Ira Wood, who served as the board president for six years, and led us through a capital campaign to fund much-needed studio upgrades as well as the creation of a strategic plan,” says WOMR executive director John Braden.

At the annual meeting, Wood noted that the community radio station is clearly fulfilling its mission. “Only a few years ago, our five-year strategic plan was only a dream,” noted Wood. “In spite of all challenges, we keep putting out a unique and relevant product, and it’s all attributable to your hard work. As of today, WOMR is alive and well—and we are thriving.”
