Pawtucket – Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien, Central Falls Mayor James A. Diossa, CVS Health, the BEAT COVID-19 initiative, the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), and the Health Equity Zone (HEZ) have announced that the rapid testing site for Pawtucket and Central Falls residents will now be testing minors aged 12 and up.

“Extending testing to young people age 12 and up will allow us to test even more people in Pawtucket and Central Falls, helping to slow the spread as we go into the fall months,” said Garth Graham, Vice President of Community Health and Chief Community Health Officer, CVS Health. “We know COVID-19 has impacted some communities more severely than others, which makes testing sites like this one so important.”

“CVS Health continues to do a phenomenal job in assisting our communities and we are pleased that they will now be testing minors as well,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “With the start of school, this implementation will go a long way in minimizing risk of spread. Numbers for the coronavirus continue to trend downward thanks to the hard work of CVS Health, the BEAT COVID-19 initiative, RIDOH, and all of our partners across both Pawtucket and Central Falls.”

“The extension of the testing services by CVS Health to those ages 12 and up will be helpful moving forward as students begin school and interact with others,” said Mayor James A. Diossa. “All of the hard work of the BEAT COVID-19 team and its partners has aided in the both cities’ downward trend of new cases of COVID-19 and we need to continue the dedication to providing testing and resources to our residents.”

The testing site is located at 91 Dexter Street in Pawtucket. Residents are asked to call 855-843-7620 to schedule free tests. Testing is available to Pawtucket and Central Falls residents who have experienced symptoms, have had recent contact with individuals who have tested positive, or work in high risk occupations. Pawtucket School Department and Central Falls School District staff are also able to get tested through the call line.
