Meredith Arden and Highland Show Stable have found a new home. Highland Show Stables have moved to Lapore Farm in Lincoln. “Meri” grew up in Pawtucket on the Saint Theresa’s side of Newport Avenue across from Slater Park. She has been riding since she was able to sit a small pony. Three days a week until she could drive herself, her parents drove to Little Compton so she could learn to ride. She is an accomplished horsewoman. She is a licensed and registered horse trainer and riding instructor.
Meredith founded Highland Show Stables. The quality of the Lapore Farm facility and the quality of the training and instruction are a perfect match. The state of the art facility has everything a horseperson could expect. The indoor and outdoor riding areas are groomed. The stalls are large, safe and clean. I mean clean very clean.
The Highland Show Stables’ Saturday’s Open House benefited Horseplay Rescue of Saunderstown, Rhode Island. They rescue horses and retire horses to their farm if they are not adoptable. There the horses live out their natural lives. Google their site for more information.
Highland Show Stables offers boarding, lessons, sales and showing. There is even a special ladies’ night class. You can get more information by calling Meredith at 401.248.3251.
Meredith’s students are making a name for themselves on the competitive circuit. This is a good thing when you work from morning to night seven days a week to care for the horses and riders. I envy a life spent doing what you love to do. Not many people achieve that goal. Meredith makes her parents and friends very proud. We wish her well.
