The Mansfield Park & Recreation Department Youth Summer Tennis lessons program concluded Tuesday, August 19 at the Memorial Park courts. Our annual Totally Tennis, Tennis Challenge and Mini-Tennis Tournament began at 8:00 a.m. and concluded at 11:30 with an exciting thunder and lightening rain storm.

Players, ages 5 through 8, came together to participate in the Totally Tennis event playing tennis games and using the new learned skills. At the conclusion, all chose a prize. The Tennis Challenge and Tournament were conducted for our 9 through 14 participants.

The Tournament concluded with one first place winner, Tom Joncas, and one second place winner, Jimmy Murphy. For the Tennis Challenge, the students volleyed back and forth for many matches concluding with our 1st place winner David Pacheco, and runner up Rebecca Santos. Everyone should be proud of their gains in knowledge and skills in the sport of tennis.

The summer tennis program concluded with parents, friends and siblings joining together for a pizza party at the high school gym. Tom, Ryan, David and Rebecca each received a tennis trophy and all received a tennis pin. Thank you to all our participants, parents and instructors for another great season. The autumn season for youth and adults begins the week of September 9 so sign up now.
