BROWN AND ROSS ANNOUNCE SOLAR-POWERED LIGHTING SYSTEM FOR WRENTHAM

November 21st, 2008 · No Comments

Wrentham- State Senator Scott Brown and State Representative Richard Ross are pleased to announce that the town of Wrentham has been selected to participate in a solar-powered lighting system program through a grant from the Commonwealth’s Renewable Energy Trust Fund. The solar-powered lighting system will illuminate the flagpole on the Town Hall lawn.

The solar-powered lighting systems are fabricated in Framingham by SolarOne® Solutions and the installation of the system is made possible by the generosity and labor of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #103.

The intent of this award is to showcase and promote clean renewable solar energy, while assisting the town of Wrentham in its municipal beautification efforts. The system is programmed to provide 7 hours peak lighting and the rest of the night the lights will dim to 30% of the peak lighting.

“I am pleased that we have been able, through the state, to follow through on our goal to transform to clean and renewable energy whenever possible,” stated Senator Brown.

“Every baby step we take toward energy independence, and using renewable energy sources takes us a step closer to ensuring environmental stability for our children and future generations,” stated Representative Ross.
