Community Care Services held their annual Employee Recognition Event on Saturday, January 24, at Rachel’s Lakeside in Dartmouth. The non-profit human services agency chooses this event to celebrate their employees’ milestone anniversaries and to honor their “Employee of the Year”. Nineteen nominations were received from the agency’s 440 employees; and the winner was selected by Community Care Services’ Board of Directors.

The agency’s “Employee of the Year 2008″ is Traci Wyse. Traci, a Centerville resident has been the director of the agency’s Southeast Alternative School – Cape Cod Campus since August, 2000. The school serves 25 students; and has a staff of 16 employees.

Tom Fisher, President and CEO of Community Care Services, read excerpts from nominations that Traci received, saying “Traci models the values of our agency; and is an exemplary leader not only within her program but within our agency and in the Cape Cod community. In her role as school director, Traci brings her personal belief in commitment to her community. This is manifested by our Southeast Alternative School Cape Cod campus’ community service learning program, as well as Traci’s involvement in several key Cape Cod committees”.

Fisher told the employees and Board members present that Traci’s expertise and her passion for reaching out to those who are underserved, was the catalyst for tailoring our school program to also meet the needs of those with Asperger’s Syndrome (AS). Traci is now sharing her knowledge with our two other alternative school campuses, which will allow us to serve students with AS at our Middleboro and Berkley campuses.

Community Care Services, based in Taunton, is a participating agency with United Way of Greater Attleboro and Taunton, as well as Old Colony United Way. The agency has over 30 diverse programs throughout Southeastern Massachusetts; and serves 7,300 people a year.
