The Attleboro Garden Club recently met at the Sweet Club House for their Annual Meeting. Jessie Murphy supplied decorations, Barbara Vachon was hostess with Allana Schaefer, Penny Bush and Beverly Hall on committee. Karla Bassler and Lynn Moore were elected Co-Presidents. Other officers include Vice Presidents Jessie Murphy and Mary Jane Kenniston, Recording Secretary Beverly Hall, Corresponding Secretary June O’Beirne and Co-Treasurers Linda LaStage and Betsy Whitfield.
The Club raises money each year to support civic beautification and community outreach projects. During the past year, the Club donated a total of $450 and many volunteer hours to the following projects and events: Gilbert Perry Square plants and maintenance, Attleboro Public Library garden plants, floral arrangements for Attleboro’s Big Read including The Great Gatsby Gala, winter holiday decorations at the Attleboro Public Library, Literacy Center garden plants, flowers and floral arranging presentation at the Attleboro Arts Museum Flower Show.
The recent Plant Sale at the Attleboro Public Library was a great success. Special thanks to Morin’s Diner for donating coffee, to Honey Dew for donating donuts, to Briggs Nursery for donating a beautiful hanging plant for the raffle, to Plantasia Interiors for donating flats of pansies and to all our members and friends who both donated plants and bought them.
