Providence Children’s Museum elected a new Board President and welcomed several new members to its Board of Directors this spring.

Newly elected Board President Jessica Holden Sherwood is the executive officer of Sociologists for Women in Society, headquartered at the University of Rhode Island, and teaches in URI’s sociology department.  She is a Providence resident and has served on the Children’s Museum’s Board since 2007.

New to the Board of Directors are East Greenwich resident Stephen A. Cardi II, executive vice president, Cardi Corporation; Bintou Chatterton of Chatterton Insurance in Pawtucket; and George Ortiz, Pawtucket resident and COO at Progreso Latino in Central Falls.

Board members David C. Isenberg of Providence and Carol A. Peterson of Cranston were each elected to another term.  Ms. Peterson will continue her Board service after leading Providence Children’s Museum for two terms as President of the Board of Directors
