Members of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home and Cremation Services management team recently attended an educational forum to continue career development and for professional advancement.
Michael S. Lake and Timothy R. Nay, owners and funeral directors, and Jacqueline Iacovelli, the firm’s project manager, human resource administrator and apprentice funeral director, attended the business forum.
On May 28, 2009 the participants attended a seminar sponsored by the National Funeral Directors Association. Presented by Carol Green, N.F.D.A. Environmental Compliance Counsel and John Fitch, N.F.D.A. Senior Vice President of Advocacy led the discussion entitled “Formaldehyde and Your Funeral Home”.
The forum assisted attendees with the tools to identify potential health risks associated with formaldehyde exposure, the impact on funeral service of a potential ban/or restriction on formaldehyde use, how to employ the N.F.D.A. Formaldehyde Best Management Practices, the steps funeral professionals can take to protect against health risks of formaldehyde exposure and the options available in lieu of formaldehyde embalming products.
The seminar provided the Dyer-Lake staff with additional tools and knowledge to continue serving the community with the most updated information regarding current issues impacting the families served in their time of need.
