Valuable two-part Seminar at the Weaver Library

How to Hire Any Contractor – Sept. 14th

How to Avoid a Renovation Horror – Sept. 21st

Everyone has a remodeling horror story – the contractor who never showed up, the one who never finished, the missed deadlines, the cost overruns.   Sam Brusco of Brusco Design & Renovation has created an informative and valuable seminar on how to hire a contractor or tradesperson and how to ensure that a renovation is a success.  Especially timely for the current housing market, Sam will lead two 1 ½ hour classes at the Weaver Library on Monday, September 14th, and Monday, September 21st at 6:30PM.  Accredited by the RI Department of Business Regulations, Sam’s classes will teach you how to spot bad contractors, (electricians, plumbers, roofers, carpenters, painters, general contractors, etc.) how to find reliable professionals, and what really happens during a renovation.  Renovating is an excellent way to improve your home and to add more useful living space, especially if buying a new home is no longer a possibility. This seminar will help you choose the right professional and will give you the information to begin any project with confidence.

Sam Brusco is a Certified Green Professional (CGP), a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) and is becoming a Certified Active Adult Housing Specialist (for 55+).  As the principal of Brusco Design & Renovation, he is a member of the USGBC, Rhode Island Builders Association, their Remodelers’ Committee and their Green Building Committee.

This program is free and open to all, however registration is required. Attendance at both classes is highly recommended. Please contact Librarian Joyce May at jmay@eplib.org or 435-1986 to register.
