Twilight Cruise with Audubon Society of Rhode Island Friday, September 11 and additional Public Tours Saturday, September 12
Central Falls, RI- The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council announces that they have added additional Rivers Cruises aboard the Blackstone Valley Explorer in September. Due to the number of weather cancellations over the summer months, Explorer staff have decided to run additional cruises aboard the Blackstone Valley Explorer.
This Sunday,September 6, Citizens Bank Foundation and the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council invite you to participate in a Free Sunday on the River at 1, 2, 3 and 4 pm. There will be another Citizens Bank Free Sunday on Sunday, September 27. Tickets for the Free Sundays on the River are first come, first serve and are available on site at Central Falls Landing staring at 12:30 pm.
As in the past, we will once again partner with staff from Audubon Society of Rhode Island to present a Twilight Nature Cruise aboard the Blackstone Valley Explorer on Friday, September 11 at 6:00 pm. Audubon Society of Rhode Island will handle all reservations for this popular 75-minute narrated river cruise aboard the Explorer. A naturalist from the Audubon Society will be present to discuss the night life along the river including bats, chimney swifts, and night hawks. Cost for this tour is as follows: $15 for member adult, $8 for member child; $20 for nonmenber adult, $10 for nonmember child. In addition, to our regular Sunday public tours we have added two public tours at Saturday, September 12 at 1:00 and 2:00 pm. Ticket prices for our regular Sunday tours are $10.00/adults, $8.00/seniors and children 12 & under.
All River Tours depart from the Central Falls Landing at the corner of Broad Street and Madeira Avenue. The Blackstone Valley Explorer, a 49-passenger river boat, is also available for special charters and senior groups of 20 or more.
RiverClassroom programs aboard the Blackstone Valley Explorer are available for school/youth groups during the week. School/youth groups can either participate in river science investigation or heritage studies aboard the Blackstone Valley Explorer.
