Start the New Year Out Right With the Foxboro YMCA and Make Being Healthy a Family Affair
The Invensys Foxboro YMCA encourages you to start the New Year off on the right foot with these healthy tips from our Health and Wellness department.
Learn a new activity or sport: Check out the YMCA’s local studio and gyms and find a class or activity for everyone! Parents, pick up a group exercise class schedule to learn that new Pilates class they have been wanting to try. Kids can join a sports league or check out one of our free youth classes!
Turn weekends into an active adventure: Plan a family ski or snow-tubing day trip. Or, find a safe hill in your town and spend a couple hours competing against each other in tubing races!
Food, Fun and Family in the New Year: Eating together at the dinner table as a family plays a major role in forming healthy, life-long habits. Are you looking for an inexpensive, healthy meal? Don’t feel like cooking? Check out the Invensys Foxboro YMCA’s Healthy Futures Family Program. A monthly event in which the whole family can eat a delicious healthy meal together and participate in age appropriate activities to get everyone moving. Contact Caitlin Hurley at 508.772.1351 to sign up or with any questions.
Walk Your Way Through Winter: Throw on your hat, mittens and jacket and battle the winter weather as a family. Children and adults should aim for 60 minutes of physical activity a day; by walking your pet, or walking to school, you’re making yourself healthier! For those extremely frigid days, stop by the YMCA’s indoor track to continue your walking schedule as a family.

I’m thrilled to see this information being shared with the public. It’s important for families to do and be more together in healthy ways.
