The Lenten Season is a time of fasting and reflection for 40 days beginning with Ash Wednesday and ending on Easter. St. John’s School Community is practicing a Lenten Carbon Fast in an attempt to lessen our carbon footprint and help save the environment. Each day the school will practice some kind of action to reduce our production of climate change pollution and help to preserve the environment. So far the students have replaced light bulbs with energy saving bulbs and use less water when washing their hands. The school also recycles and uses on-line postings, school wide emails as well as electronic report cards to decrease the use of paper. Shown are some of the third grade students with the recycling bins.
