Sunday, March 21st

 E Linden Baroque 2

FRIENDS OF LINDEN PLACE will continue to celebrate the bicentennial year of the historic mansion at 500 Hope Street, Bristol, with a concert of the music of 18th century Paris on Sunday, March 21 at 3 PM in the mansion parlors.  Featured performers will be Laura Gulley, baroque violin; Kathryn Roth, baroque flute; Marcy Jean Brenner, viola da gamba; and Catherine Gordon-Seifert, harpsichord.  This concert features music by 17th- and 18th-century French composers (Marais, Couperin, and Rameau) and a piece written in the French style (Telemann), each embodying the French proclivity for sensuous sonorities, rhythmic intricacies, and graceful musical gestures.

Admission to the concert is $10 ($7 for members of Friends of Linden Place and free to members of the Colt Circle). There will be a reception following the concert to meet the artists.  The concert is part of an on-going series of cultural programming and exhibitions to observe the 200th birthday of the treasured 1810 Federal style mansion located in historic downtown Bristol, Rhode Island.
