March 19th, 2010 · No Comments

JCPENNEY AFTERSCHOOL ROUND UP PROGRAM BENEFITS HOCKOMOCK AREA YMCA IN NORTH ATTLEBORO

(North Attleboro, MA) Spare change helps change lives. From Wednesday, March 24 through Tuesday, April 6, shoppers are urged to ‘round-up’ their purchase to the next whole dollar at JCPenney in the Emerald Square Mall. From there, the JCPenney Afterschool Fund will donate the difference to the Hockomock Area YMCA in North Attleboro to provide children in our community with access to life-enriching after school programs thru the School’s Out Program.

The School’s Out Program at the YMCA provides a great setting for school-aged children to play, learn, and grow in a safe and caring environment. This program services over 350 children in Wrentham, Plainville, and North Attleboro when school is out for the day as well as during school vacations and summer. Offerings include the Before School Care Program (7:00 am until the start of school) and After School Care Program (from end of school until 6:00 pm). The curriculum includes homework support, health & wellness, service learning, and much more.

For more information about the School’s Out Program at the Hockomock Area YMCA, please contact Barbara Zimmer, School Age Program Director at (508) 643-5246 or barbaraz@hockymca.org.
