TAUNTON, MA, September 2, 2010 — Bristol County Savings Bank (BCSB), through its charitable foundation, awarded grants totaling $35,261 to eleven Taunton/Raynham, Massachusetts area non-profit organizations at its Main Office in Taunton recently. The Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation (BCSCF) presented grants to the following organizations: Associates for Human Services ($1,700); Boys & Girls Club of Taunton ($2,100); Heart of Taunton ($1,200); Jared C. Monti Memorial Park Fund ($5,000); Morton Hospital & Medical Center ($4,500); Old Colony Historical Society ($5,000); Open Shelves Food Pantry ($366); Our Daily Bread ($1,371); Taunton Public Schools ($4,750); Taunton Youth Football & Cheerleading ($1,774); and Triumph, Inc. ($7,500).
Dennis Kelly, Chairman of the BCSCF and President of BCSB, and Patrick Murray, President of the BCSCF and Executive Vice President/Treasurer & COO of BCSB, awarded the grants along with Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation Board members: Marge Largey; Russ Martorana, President of Farrell Backlund Insurance Agency; Lou Ricciardi of Ricciardi Financial Group; and Charles Terry. Members of the Bank’s Taunton banking office staff also participated in the presentation, including: George Mendros, Regional Branch Administrator and Jann Alden, Branch Manager. Julie Chapman, Senior Vice President of Retail/Compliance at BCSB, and Brian Hunter, Vice President of Anawon Trust, a division of BCSB, were also in attendance.
Bristol County Savings Bank is an active supporter in the communities in which it serves. The Foundation was established in 1996 as part of the Bank’s 150th Anniversary celebration. Its purpose is to fund needs that contribute to the economy and the social well-being of the people and institutions located in greater Attleboro/Taunton and greater New Bedford/Dartmouth, Massachusetts as well as the Pawtucket, Rhode Island area. Since the Foundation began, more than $5.8 million in grants to over 400 different 501©(3) organizations have been awarded. In 2009, the Foundation awarded a record $822,472 to 129 different organizations.
