Friday Services, June 3, 2011, 7:30 pm
Attleboro, MA, May 24, 2011 – On Friday evening, June 3, Judy Kaye, co-founder and co-chair of J Street Rhode Island will be the guest speaker during Friday Services beginning at 7:30 pm at Congregation Agudas Achim, 901 North Main Street in Attleboro, MA. All are welcome to attend.
J Street’s mission is two-fold: first, to advocate for urgent American diplomatic leadership to achieve a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and a broader regional, comprehensive peace; and second, to ensure a broad debate on Israel and the Middle East in national politics and the American Jewish community. J Street seeks to give political voice to those mainstream American Jews and other supporters of Israel who, informed by their progressive and Jewish values, believe that a two-state solution is essential to Israel’s survival as the national home of the Jewish people and as a vibrant democracy.
Judy Kaye is an active member of Temple Emanu-El in Providence and is very involved in the Jewish Renewal movement. Judy was trained as a lawyer and represented low-income people for 10 years before switching careers. She now has her own training and consulting practice specializing in managing diversity, cultural competence, and prevention of discrimination and harassment in the workplace. She also officiates at alternative Jewish rituals and ceremonies.
