SEE THE STARS AT WHEATON

See the stars from the Observatory at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass.

The college???s observatory will be open to the public every Friday during the fall semester (through Dec. 9) to view the stars, nebulae, galaxies, the moon and the occasional planet.????

The observatory is located on the roof of the Mars Center for Science and Technology and features an array of powerful instruments, including a collection of 11-inch to 14-inch telescopes that will be used for the public viewing.

Faculty and students from the Wheaton College Physics & Astronomy Department host the open house nights, which begin with a slideshow in Hindle Auditorium, Science Center.????

Visitors are strongly encouraged to check the Wheaton Observatory web site in advance of coming to campus.

Adverse weather conditions, including cloud cover, will result in cancellation of the open house. Updates will be posted on Friday by 1 p.m., but given New England weather, it???s advisable to check the status just before heading to campus.
