Bishop Feehan High School announced the names of 13 freshmen and sophomore students who won awards from the Region III Science and Engineering Fair at Bristol Community College in Fall River.?? The following winners of the regional fair will go on to the State fair at MIT in May.?? Among the first place winners, Katherine Beadle and Meredith Blaise will participate the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles, CA where they will compete for scholarship awards up to $75,000.

1st Place Winners

Katherine Beadle (N Attleboro); ???Varying Lipid Production Efficiencies Among Microalgae” – Rensselaer Scholarship Award ($20,000 scholarship), James Pelletier Outstanding Project Award ($300), and ISEF Region III State Representative.

Meredith Blaise (Canton); “Psychosocial Turmoil” – US Navy Distinguished Achievement Award ($50), Counseling Associates Award for Excellence in Psychology ($50), Outstanding Project Award from Garcia, Galuska, and Desousa ($100), and ISEF Region III Representative Award.

Christine Schremp (Attleboro); “Eco-toxicity of Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles” – Earth Day Award ($100)

2nd Place Winners

Matthew Correia (Mansfield) – Certificate of Recognition from the ASM Material Education Foundation.

Lauren Harrington (Rumford, RI) – BCC/Rensselear Region III Science Fair Committee Award ($50).

Elizabeth Parkinson (N Attleboro) – Certificate of Achievement from the American Meteorological Society, and Water Environment Federation Regional Award.

3rd Place Winners

Salima Amiji (Attleboro) – Sanofi-Genzyme Corporation Distinguished Achievement Award ($250).

Chase Beausoleil (Woonsocket) – Certificate of Outstanding Achievement from the American. Meteorological Society, Taking the Pulse of the Planet Award, and Bad Dog Tools Innovation Award ($100).
