NCAA LACROSSE CHAMPIOSHIPS AT GILLETTE

The 2017 NCAA Lacrosse Championships will be played at Gillette Stadium over Memorial Day Weekend

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. ??? While NCAA Division I, II and III men???s and Division I women???s lacrosse teams around the country are on the drive toward the 2017 NCAA Lacrosse Championships at Gillette Stadium, NCAA and Gillette Stadium staff are preparing a drive of their own in partnership with Academy Bus Company to promote the championships return to New England.

An NCAA Lacrosse Championships-branded bus carrying the 2017 NCAA Division I, II and III Men???s and Division I Women???s Lacrosse Championships trophies and a variety of giveaways and prizes, including rally towels, bag tags, socks, bags and polos, will be rolling out of Gillette Stadium Saturday morning and heading into Boston for an action-packed day of lacrosse. Local youth and high school lacrosse teams will see the bus off as it departs from the stadium???s Lot 4B at 10 a.m.

The first stop on the tour is Faneuil Hall from 11 a.m. to noon. From there, the bus will head to Harvard for the men???s lacrosse game between the Crimson and Cornell (12:30-1:30 p.m.) and to Boston College for the women???s lacrosse game between the Lady Eagles and Duke (2-3 p.m.).????

The 2017 NCAA Division I, II and III Men???s and Division I Women???s Lacrosse Championships will be played at Gillette Stadium over Memorial Day Weekend, May 26-29.???? The men???s championships will be hosted by Harvard University while the University of Massachusetts, Amherst will host the women???s championship. The tournament annually draws fans from around the United States and several international countries.

For the first time ever, the Division I Women???s Championship will be played at the same site as the men???s championships. In addition to the women???s championship, the four-day event includes the Division I, II, and III Men???s Championships – the only NCAA Championship that involves all three men???s divisions at one site. Families and fans will enjoy pre- and post-game activities at the NCAA Fan Festival, Reunion Village and throughout Patriot Place.

While 2017 will mark the first time Gillette Stadium has ever hosted the Division I Women???s Lacrosse Championship, the venue has a history of tremendous success hosting the men???s lacrosse championships. In 2008, Gillette Stadium set attendance records for the Division I final (48,970) and the Division II and III finals (24,317). The championships were also played in Foxborough in 2009 and 2012, attracting fans from 47 states and six international countries.
