Register Now for Nature Weeks at Frosty Drew

B FrostyDrewObservatory

Frosty Drew Nature Weeks are a fun, educational alternative to summer day camp for children ages 4-10.?? Since 1983, the educators at Frosty Drew Nature Center have helped children explore the environment of Ninigret Park and Ninigret Wildlife Refuge, which includes freshwater and salt ponds ??- perfect for discovery using a seine net!

Nature Weeks begin June 26 and go through August 25. Each week has a different theme and different age group, but all run Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the option of extended care. There is a different nature-based topic each day in this hands-on program. Children have fun outdoors, in and out of the water, and experience times for active adventure and quiet reflection. Children create journals that later become treasured souvenirs of summer memories.

Each day focuses on a specific theme and can include insects, birds, plants, sea life, reptiles, astronomy, and environmental issues. The small class size and the naturalist-to-child ratio of 1:6 encourage children to develop their curiosity through observation and exploration.

The Frosty Drew Nature Center & Observatory is an independent, educational nonprofit located at 61-62 Park Lane, in Ninigret Park, Charlestown, RI, off of U.S. Route 1.?? The mission of Frosty Drew Nature Center & Observatory is to deliver environmental education with a primary focus on marine and aquatic habitats and the night sky.
