In celebration of the Museum???s new Coming to Rhode Island exhibit ??? a time-traveling exploration of history and culture through stories ?????families tell their own stories as they explore vexillography, the art of designing flags, and create their own flags.?? Examine global and cultural flags to discover the symbolism and meaning behind colors, shapes and images, then design a flag that represents your story.

Play and Learn: Let’s Move!

Tuesday, May 30?? ????? 10:00 AM – Noon

Play and Learn is the Museum???s open-ended story-based program especially for 2- to 4-year-olds and their parents, designed to help preschoolers build their skills in a variety of areas and to help parents continue the learning at home.?? This week, preschoolers get active and move to the rhythm of a story. Providence Children???s Museum offers activities that promote physical play and activity as part of the national Let???s Move! initiative for children’s healthy development.

Puzzle Works

Tuesday, May 30 ??? Friday, June 2 ????? 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Take on creative challenges with a colorful assortment of shape and patterning puzzles in Discovery Studio, the Museum???s hands-on art and science exploration space.?? Try your hand at geometric, mosaic, wooden and magnetic puzzles that involve shape sequencing and sorting and have multiple solutions.

Toddler Try-It: Puzzle Play??????

Friday, June 2 ????? 10:00 AM – Noon

Young children, ages 18 months to 3 years, use real tools and explore the creative process as they delve into different hands-on art and science activities each Friday morning.?? This week, toddlers put together and take apart a variety of shape and patterning puzzles.

Kids and adults learn what’s so funny about trash during an interactive family comedy that gives a lighthearted look at the three R???s of protecting the environment ??? reducing, reusing and recycling.?? Four 20-minute shows at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM; recommended for ages 5 and up.

Providence Children???s Museum ??? play is powerful!

The Museum is located at 100 South Street in Providence???s Jewelry District.?? September through March, open Tuesday through Sunday and Monday school holidays, 9 AM to 6 PM, and selected Fridays until 8 PM.?? April through August, open 7 days.??
