United Way of Greater Attleboro/Taunton named Community Partner of the Year by Bristol Community College.

On Tuesday, May 23rd United Way of Greater Attleboro/Taunton (UWGAT) was presented the Community Partner of the Year Award at the annual Experiential Education Recognition Breakfast at Bristol Community College (BCC).

President & CEO, Jamie Crossman accepted the award on behalf of the organization. ???We are very proud of our partnership with BCC. Beyond traditional academics the programs provided to BCC students such as Experiential Learning opportunities truly helps develop supplemental critical skills that will serve as an advantage upon entering the workforce.

UWGAT???s mission is to improve lives by uniting the caring power of communities to advance the common good. This partnership is a wonderful example of the positive impact that can happen whenwe all work together.???

Erin Smith, M.A., serves as the Senior Special Programs Coordinator for Civic Engagement at BCC and developed the partnership with UWGAT.

???UWGAT serves as a community convener and a funding partner for many community partners in Attleboro and Taunton, promoting our program and connecting us to those organizations. This year, UWGAT itself became a valuable partner for Marketing 101 Service-Learning students at the Attleboro Campus.???

Through a variety of activities students developed two potential marketing plans that would assist UWGAT with engaging Millennials and retaining Baby Boomers as they retire in the Live United Movement.

Once finalized students presented both plans in an open forum also enhancing public speaking skills. ???The presentations were amazing and extremely informative. Their professionalism, creativity and ability to engage made it difficult to conceive that they were entry level marketing students.

Partnerships are mutually beneficial and I learned a few new marketing tips as well. A true testament to the quality of education provided by BCC??? said Crossman.

???We are so grateful for the experience UWGAT helped to provide our students this year and look forward to a long and prosperous partnership in the years to come.??? said Smith.
