The Chorus of Westerly’s??Spring Music and Movement Program??For Children Ages 4 to 6??
Westerly, RI – The Chorus of Westerly announces their spring session of Music and Movement, a music education program for children ages 4 to 6.??
The program is designed to introduce our youngest musicians to the world of music through fun activities designed just for them!
We’ll sing, move, and play in an eight-week session held on Wednesday afternoons at the George Kent Performance Hall, 119 High Street in Westerly.??
The program will run weekly on Wednesday afternoons from 4 pm to 4:45 pm, March 7 to April 25, 2018.
Previous experience in music is certainly??not??required of the children to participate in the program.
Tuition is $90 per child for the full eight-week session.??
Music is a key feature of early childhood, and children are natural music makers who delight in the musical world around them.
In this class, young musicians experience a variety of music activities designed just for them.
Children will sing, move expressively, create, and play instruments. While building a repertoire of songs for everyday living, children will acquire music skills and knowledge that will enrich their lives far into the future.??
In addition to acquiring early music literacy skills, making music enhances children???s understanding of their world, aids in language development, and contributes to their social and emotional well-being.
Faculty for the program include several music educators from within the Chorus of Westerly ranks including; Ms. Genvieve Spitale, music teacher; Andrew Howell, music director; and Audrey Cardany, director of education and outreach.
