Linden Place Mansion Opens for the Season with Tours, Parties, Concerts and more

Linden Place, an 1810 Federal style mansion located in the heart of Bristol, RI, will open for the season on Sunday, May 6 at 12pm.

With guided and self-guided tours, exhibits, activities and special events for all ages, Linden Place offers a fun and educational experience for the entire family.

The mansion will be open Tuesday-Saturday 10-4pm and Sunday 12-4 pm for guided and self-guided tours through October. Tour highlights include tales of DeWolf family exploits to their financial ruin and triumphant return to prosperity during Victorian times, a magnificent four story spiral staircase as well as a chandelier that once hung in Buckingham Palace.

Come tour the rooms where four Presidents have been entertained and scenes from the film The Great Gatsby, starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow, were shot. Visitors are welcome to stroll through the sculpture-filled gardens where they will find Greek bronzes, an 18th Century gazebo, and a 200-year-old horse drawn carriage.??

Saturday, May 5, 4-8pm??Derby Day:??Dig out your derby hat and break out the seersucker jackets as we bring the spirit of the Kentucky Derby to Bristol, Rhode Island! The ultimate derby watching experience, Linden Place celebrates Kentucky Derby Day in true Colt family fashion with mint juleps, live music, great food, live streaming of the 144th??annual Kentucky Derby, live and silent auction & more. This fundraiser for Linden Place Mansion is not to be missed! Tickets are $75, $65 for Linden Place members with all proceeds to benefit the ongoing restoration and preservation of Linden Place.

Thursday, May 10 at 5-8pm??Sip n??? Shop Night:??Join us for a night of snacks and drinks while strolling Linden Place???s charming Gift Shop. Looking for a Mother???s Day gift? A teacher???s appreciation gift? A gift just because? The Linden Place Gift Shop has the perfect gift for that!

Friday, May 11 at 7:30pm??Michael DiMucci ???Songs from the Movies???:??A Linden Place favorite, Michael DiMucci, will perform??top songs and Oscar-winning pieces from the cinema; songs that have shaped our lives and captured our hearts from the 1930???s to the present. Tickets are $20, $15 for Linden Place members and $10 for Colt Circle members.

Saturday, May 12 at 11am??Tales of the Slave Trade Walking Tour:????Learn how Bristol, New England and all of America were impacted by the slave trading DeWolf family of Linden Place from museum educator, Robin Tremblay. Beginning at Linden Place Mansion, the tour takes you throughout downtown Bristol and ends at DeWolf Tavern for a drink! Admission is $20, $15 for members.

Saturday, May 19 at 12 pm??Lunch and Learn:??Bring your own bag lunch to the mansion for Linden Place???s ???Lunch and Learn Saturdays??? lecture series this spring! For the first installment, local historian and artist, David Harrington, will put Linden Place Mansion, designed by architect, Russell Warren, into historical context with the DeWolf family and Warren???s other work.

Lectures take place at 12:00pm inside Linden Place Mansion. There is a $10 admission fee for each lecture, $5 for each lecture for Linden Place members. Reservations should be made in advance as space is limited.

Wednesday, May 30 at 6-8pm??Floral Workshop:??Come celebrate the spring season with a floral design workshop taught by Little State Flower Co and Studio Choo East hosted in the gorgeous historic barn at Linden Place. Little State Flower Co is the largest wholesale local and sustainable flower farm in Rhode Island and Studio Choo East is one of the hottest floral designers in the country! Participants will be designing with 100% local flowers and foliage grown in Portsmouth, RI. Admission is $55.

Friends of Linden Place is a non-profit organization responsible for the restoration and preservation of the historic house museum at 500 Hope Street in Bristol, Rhode Island, and for the promotion of cultural, artistic, and educational programs in the community.
