The Michael Ingbar Gallery of Architectural Art is proud to host a benefit exhibit for The Center of Architecture, with 20% of artwork sale proceeds during the opening reception going to the non-profit.

The Center for Architecture is a leading cultural venue for architecture and the built environment in New York City, informed by the complexity of the City???s urban fabric and in dialogue with the global community.
The Center for Architecture shares a home with the AIA New York Chapter and has the unique advantage of drawing upon the ideas and experiences of practicing architects to produce thought provoking exhibitions, informative public programs, and quality design education experiences for K-12 students.

This gallery exhibition features artworks of many well-known architectural landmarks, mainly from Richard Haas as well as works by Assunta Sera, Daniel Hauben, James Iska, Helen Frank, and many others.
Richard Haas is probably the most well collected artist of New York City architectural imagery, including artwork of iconic images such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Chrysler Building, Chelsea Hotel, Helmsley Building (formerly New York General Building), and the Dakota
Richard Haas is best known in NYC for his rendering of the cast-iron fa??ade in SoHo as well as his many trompe l???oeil works throughout the USA – in fact he is the most prolific tromp l???oeil artist in the USA . His descriptive architectural??artwork has been described as making: “??? people stop and think about architecture and realize that buildings are not just a backdrop; they are also an active presence in our lives.” -Paul Goldberger,??Architecture Critic, Vanity Fair.
Assunta Sera, has an amazing view of the Grand Central Station information booth from above, always seen in the abstract as an eye. Sera was obsessed with the station and, in 1996 when the station was renovated to reintroduce the missing stairway on the east side of the interior, the Metropolitan Transit Authority commissioned her to paint a poster to celebrate the renovation. The original painting hung in the MTA chairman???s office.
The artist???s reception will be held on Friday September 7, 2018 from 5 to 8 pm. Richard Haas will give a brief lecture around 6:30 pm. Other artists will also be present.
