What:??Boy Scouts across Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts will be collecting donated food items for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and local food pantries as part of the 31st annual “Scouting for Food” drive.??

The media is invited to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank to see a caravan of Scouts from the region drop off thousands of pounds of donated food. There will be great visuals of Scouts unloading food, volunteers sorting food, and parents pulling up with cars filled with food from their neighborhoods.

There will be opportunities to speak with participating Scouts, troop leaders and representatives from the Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America, and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. This year, through a new partnership, Ocean State Job Lot will match pound-for-pound (up to 100,000 pounds) all food collected by the Narragansett Council’s Scouts.
