A popular and differentiating Attleboro Arts Museum member benefit is the opportunity to annually exhibit up to three original works of art in the Museum’s Ottmar Gallery. In the spirit of the Museum’s tagline – Arts for Everyone – all work is accepted into this exhibition. Once the work is on display, guest juror Christine O’Donnell, owner and gallery manager of Beacon Gallery of Boston, will award cash prizes, art materials and certificates of merit to outstanding artists. “195 Attleboro Arts Museum member artists brought hundreds of impressive works to our gallery for the upcoming 2018 Members’ Exhibition,” stated Mim Brooks Fawcett, Executive Director and Chief Curator.  Fawcett continues, “The exhibition offers our artists a guaranteed chance to show their work in a museum setting.  It is by far the largest exhibit that we mount each year, in not only the number of works on view, but participating artists and opening reception attendees.”

The exhibit’s opening reception will be held on Saturday, December 8th from 2pm-4pm.  Participating artists will be honored at a ceremony that begins at 3pm.

Members’ Exhibition Juror Christine O’Donnell Christine O’Donnell, the Owner and Gallery Manager of Beacon Gallery, opened Beacon Gallery after over a decade spent living and working in Paris, Hong Kong, and Singapore. While living abroad, Ms. O’Donnell honed her eye for art in museums and galleries and also befriended local artists. Representing  talent from the Boston area as well as Europe and Asia, Beacon Gallery, located in Boston’s SoWa neighborhood, aims to connect emerging and mid-career artists with new and established collectors and institutions from around the world. Ms. O’Donnell has juried many shows around greater Boston for galleries, art associations and museums and has been invited to serve as the 2018 Members’ Exhibition guest juror.  She will review all of the work on display and select a total of 24 award winners.  Winners will be announced at the opening reception.

The shop maintains a popular selection of unique housewares, jewelry, accessories, greeting cards, innovative toys, ceramics, books and more. Each holiday season several new products are introduced during a “Holiday Extravaganza.” All major credit cards, cash and checks are accepted.

The “Extravaganza” is known to be an alternative source for “just the right” gift. Customers respond positively to the products, gift shop service and chance to grow the creative economy.
