Barnstable County, MA – The Homeless Prevention Council is pleased to announce that it is conducting the 2019 Massachusetts Youth Count Survey for the Cape and Islands.  This annual effort is a project of the Cape and Islands Regional Network on Homelessness.  Youth Count 2019 runs through May 12th, 2019.

The annual Youth Count survey plays an essential role in understanding youth homelessness and housing instability on the Cape and Islands.  The data collected from the survey helps to support policy reform and new program designs, as well as to improve the services offered by Cape and Islands providers.  Wide distribution and completion of the Youth Count Survey is pivotal to the ability to support our most vulnerable youth.

“On behalf of the Cape and Islands Regional Network on Homelessness I am pleased that Homeless Prevention Council is coordinating the 2019 Youth Count.  Youth Count 2019 is a project of the Massachusetts Commission on Unaccompanied Homeless Youth and is funded by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.  The annual Youth Count is aligned with Barnstable County’s Homeless Youth Grant which provides services and supports to unaccompanied homeless youth on the Cape and Islands aged 24 and under” according to Beth Albert, Director of Barnstable County Human Services.

Youth and young adults under 25 can participate in this year’s Youth Count by taking the online or printed survey before May 12.  The survey is available at this link:
