No Time to Waste
Monday, August 1
10:30 AM – 1:15 PM
Kids and adults learn what’s so funny about trash during an interactive family comedy that gives a lighthearted look at the three Rs of protecting the environment – reducing, reusing and recycling. Four 20-minute shows at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:15 PM and 1:15 PM; recommended for ages 5 – 11.

Get Out! – Meet a Worm
Tuesday, August 2
1:00 – 3:00 PM
Get out and play in the Museum’s Children’s Garden each Tuesday afternoon in August! Kids make friends with red wriggler composting worms and hold a giant night crawler.
Wheels at Work – Mobile Command Center
Wednesday, August 3
10:00 AM – Noon
Kids check out the Mobile Command Center the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency uses to help in natural disasters. Explore a different vehicle each Wednesday in August!
Animal Adventures – Meet a Tortoise!
Thursday, August 4
1:00 – 3:00 PM
Children create critters, craft wild habitats and encounter live animals in Discovery Studio, the Museum’s new open-ended art and science exploration space. Meet tortoises large and small and learn about the differences between turtles and tortoises.

MetLife Family Friday at Providence Children’s Museum

The Museum is open free of charge from 5:00 – 8:00 PM for MetLife Family Friday – Free at Five! every Friday evening through Labor Day, sponsored by MetLife Foundation. Stay out late and splash, play, explore and discover! From 5:30 – 7:30 PM, drop in to Discovery Studio, the Museum’s new art and science exploration space, to craft critters and wild habitats.
Bubble Blast
Saturday, August 6 • Sunday, August 7
1:00 – 3:00 PM
Kids experiment with ways to blow bubbles big and small with an array of wacky tools in the Museum’s Children’s Garden.
