ATTLEBORO– Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 at Dayspring Christian Academy of Attleboro were treated to a special chapel service Wednesday when two illustrious alumni returned for motivational presentations.

In two separate services held in the adjacent South Attleboro Assembly of God Church, 2009 DCA graduates Billy Arruda and David DaSilva entertained and inspired current students with their musical and oratorical skills.

Arruda, a junior at Bishop Feehan High of Attleboro, is an up-and-coming rock musician and his CD single entitled “Rise Up” was recently made available for sale on Amazon.com, and ITunes.com. The CD single was featured on the jumbo-tron screen in Times Square inNew York City.

Arruda, whose second single entitled “One is Three” is expected to be released shortly, played his guitar and performed the song “Fire Fall Down” for DCA students Wednesday.

DaSilva, a junior at Masters Regional Academy of Smithfield, R.I., exhibited his passion for preaching by urging DCA students to heed God’s call to work in His service in their lifetimes. During a 15-minute sermon, DaSilva quoted Biblical passages, but largely spoke from his heart.

“God is alive and has a calling on your life,” DaSilva said. “You are significant and you are called in your young lives to work in the service of our Lord. Today is the time you decide to side with Jesus and to be alive instead of dead.”
