Attleboro Hill-Roberts: Field Of Fun

Hill-Roberts Annual Field Day
Organized by the PTO, the annual field day gets better and better every year. An elaborate series of relay courses are laid out on the back field of the school. From traditional sack races to difficult obstacle courses mimicking basic training fantasies, there was something for everyone. All activities are team focused and the children cheered each other’s efforts.
Of some note for an objective observer were the antics of the parents. Dads and moms were quick to explain and demonstrate the relays. However, moms cheered for every child and dads turned to coaching their favored teams. Much to this observer’s delight it appeared that the kids just want to have fun. They did.
The sponge-water-bucket relay seemed to produce the most unbridled joy. It produced the most noise.
Next year we are going to plan time to stay for the post lunch break Tug-Of-War.
