Living Literature???s The Wright Brothers at the Weaver Library

??F WEAVER edited

Living Literature will present a 50-minute readers theater presentation of David McCullough???s??The Wright Brothers??at the Weaver Library on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 7pm in celebration of Reading Across Rhode Island 2016. Weaver Library and Reading Across RI invite readers of all ages and from across the state to participate in a lively book discussion after the performance.

The Wright Brothers tells the story of the courageous brothers who taught the world how to fly: Wilbur and Orville Wright. As in his other masterly works, McCullough draws on diaries, notebooks, and family letters to share the human side of the Wright Brothers. He examines their characters and their immense technical achievements as well as the little known contributions of their sister and father. Living Literature???s actors bring this dramatic American story to life.

This evening has been made possible by a collaboration of Weaver Library, East Providence High School, and Reading Across Rhode Island, the signature program of the RI Center for the Book at the RI Council for the Humanities. The RI Council for the Humanities seeds, supports, and strengthens public history, cultural heritage, civic education and community engagement by and for all Rhode Islanders.
