The Taunton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their 22nd Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, May 19, 2008 at the Segregansett Country Club. Proceeds from the tournament support the Charles E. Volkmann Scholarship Fund and the Taunton Area Chamber of Commerce. The Corporate sponsor is Bristol County Savings Bank. Supporting sponsors include Bridgewater Savings Bank, Eastern Bank, The Lopes Companies, Mechanics Cooperative Bank, Quality Beverage LP, StoneForge Tavern & Publick House, Taunton Federal Credit Union, VersaCold, and Percy, Tedeschi & Associates. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch. Shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m. The cost for a single golfer is $175 or $700 for a foursome. Non-Members are $200 for a single and $800 for a foursome. The cost includes green fees, a shared cart, lunch, and a steak dinner. Get a hole-in-one on either of two designated holes and win a car courtesy of Mastria Auto Group. New this year is a cash hole sponsored by AF Macedo Insurance Agency. |

The Artist’s Way Conservatory in Taunton, Ma announces 8 new classes being offered for children from the age of 1-adult. Children’s theater specialist and Taunton native Natalie Cabral-Glaser has joined the faculty and will be teaching day and afternoon preschool and youngster classes such as Drama for Mama and Me, Pre-School Playhouse, Imagination Train, Shining Stars, and Young Actor’s Playhouse. Times of classes vary from 9AM through after school. College Prep Advanced Musical Theater Scene Study, Acting for Singers and Dancers, and Audition Techniques for Musical Theater Performers will also be taught by various professional musical theater performers on a weekly basis. Times of classes are generally mid afternoon through early evening. Bristol County Savings Bank has announced the appointment of Jann Alden as Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager at their Raynham, MA office, located at 942 Broadway, where she will develop business and oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch. With over 20 years of banking experience, Alden started out as a teller and quickly rose to the position of Branch Manager. Since 1989, Alden has specialized in branch management, supervising anywhere from one to three branches at a time. Prior to joining Bristol County Savings, Alden most recently served as Vice-President/Manager of the Taunton and Raynham branches of Eastern Bank.
