Roland E. Riendeau, age 88, of 2 Dean Court, passed away on April 3 at Madonna Manor after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Florida (Ringuette) Riendeau with whom he recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Roland Riendeau leaves his wife, Florida (Ringuette) Riendeau; three children, Elaine Paine of North Attleboro, Carol Prado of Mission Viejo, CA, and Nancy Miles of Wrentham; four grandchildren, Keith Kelleher, Wendy Morse, Scott Charron, Gary Jutras; and six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Madelyn Kelleher, Dorien and Alyssa Morse, Cameron and Madison Charron, and John and Christopher Jutras. He was the brother of Lorena Jette of North Attleboro and the late Violet Cote of Leicester and uncle to several nieces and nephews. Heart Church. He retired as a toolmaker from Whiting & Davis and previously worked at the Webster Company. He was a founding member and past president of the Sidesplitters Square Dance Club, a member of the P.E.A.L Club, and CYO advisor at Sacred Heart Church. During World War II, he served 4-1/2 years with the U. S. Army 3rd infantry division 7th regiment at Anzio Beachhead in Southern France. He was wounded in action in France during 1944. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, ETO Ribbon with 4 stars and Amphibious Arrowhead, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal, Presidential Unit Citation. He is a member of the Military Order of Purple Heart. His Funeral will be held from the SPERRY & McHOUL FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro on Monday, April 7 at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass celebrated in Sacred Heart Church in North Attleboro at 11 o¢clock. Burial with military honors will be held at the National Cemetary, Bourne, Cape Cod, at 2:15 p.m. Calling hours are Sunday, April 6, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Sperry McHoul Funeral Home. Sarah E. Underhill, 48, of Lowell, MA award-winning photographer, died Easter weekend at her home. She is survived by her mother, Elma Underhill of Millbury, MA her brother, Jonathan Underhill of Attleboro, MA and his wife Lynn, and nephews Jonathan Jr., Matthew and Brian. Her father, Jay Underhill, predeceased her in June 2007.
She was born in Burlington, VT January 1960 and raised in Plainville, MA. She graduated King Phillip Regional High School in 1978 and Endicott College in 1981 with high honors and a degree in photography. From 1981 to 1984 she was a freelance photographer in the Boston area. In May of 1984 and until July 1995 she was a photographer/multi-image producer at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA. In 1995 and to the present, she was employed by the U.S. Govt. at the Soldiers Systems Command at Natick Labs as a fulltime photographer and designer. She has received numerous awards and commendations from both the Federal and State Governments, civilian entities and the Military with special recognition by the US Army Quartermaster Corps Honorable Order of St. Martin. Many of her assignments included work with foreign dignitaries and government officials from both the executive and legislative branches. She also spent a tour in Afghanistan during 2004. Her photos have been published world wide to include Newsweek, Time, Popular Science, the LA Times and the Boston Globe. Sarah was most concerned with the well being of the young soldiers she encountered. She was especially compassionate for the soldiers who returned home from deployment wounded. Phyllis A. Welshman of Park Street died early Sunday morning, March 30, 2008 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. She was wife of the late Daniel “Buddy” Welshman and the late Americo Carnevali.

Mary A. Page (Sweeney) of North Attleborough, formerly of Dedham died peacefully on March 31, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family at age 76. She was wife of the late George W. Page, Sr.

Page, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Plainville and Marianne McCarthy and her husband, Robert of Franklin; Sister of Ann Hulme of West Roxbury, Helen Amirault of Attleboro, Theresa Roberts of Hull and Dennis Sweeney of Attleboro and the late Catherine Hulme, Joan Grattan and Eileen Sweeney. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Margaret Mary Elizabeth (Precourt) Chisholm, the “Best Mom Ever” to Alpin, John, Suzanne and Michael, joined her husband, Alpin Chisholm in heaven on Wednesday morning, April 2, 2008. She was the beloved mother-in-law of Loriann, Tam and MaryBeth. She was loved by her grandchildren, Amanda, Cora, Hannah, Emma, Sam, Hayley, Andy and Tizi. She will forever be remembered for the easy shy smile and kindness she shared with everyone she touched. Margaret was born in North Attleboro July 12, 1919 and lived on West Street with her sister, Helen and her brothers, Bill and Ed. While working at Bugbee & Niles, she met Alpin Chisholm and they married on May 20, 1950. She and Alpin enjoyed their life, spending time on Nantucket, staying on the beach at Whitehorse, traveling to California on the train and enjoying long vacations on Cuttyhunk. Patricia C. Callahan, 77, of North Attleboro died Friday morning, February 29, 2008 in Life Care Center of Attleboro after a very long illness. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was born in Boston to the late Daniel F. and Barbara (Dunlap) Callahan formerly of Foxboro. After moving from Boston she became a resident of Hingham and was educated in the Hingham school system. She worked in the one and only candy factory in Hingham and later the Raytheon Company in Quincy making television tubes for all the new TV’s that were produced. She worked there until she was laid off. In 1961 she moved to North Attleboro and became a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. She loved to do housework so she worked as a housekeeper for many individuals and offices in North Attleboro. Patricia also worked for C.R. Randall’s Jewelry factory until being laid off. She then worked at Technal Plastics Company in North Attleboro until retiring. Patricia helped to plan social events for the local Disabled American Veterans and received a citation and plaque for her work with the group. She was instrumental in helping to raise $1,000 to help build a facility for Chapter 56 Westcott & Houghton Disabled American |

Earle R. Bennett, 96, a longtime resident of Plainville, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2008 in Madonna Manor Nursing Home, North Attleboro where he has been a resident the past year. He was the beloved husband of the late Lillian (Daft) Bennett who passed away on April 11, 1992. Born December 9, 1911 in Woonsocket, RI, he was a son of the late Benjamin I. and Mary E. (James) Bennett. Mr. Bennett has been a resident of Plainville for over 50 years. He was a 1930 graduate of North Attleboro High School. During World War II, Mr. Bennett served in the United States Army with the 45th Infantry Division in Germany and was recently awarded several medals, including the Bronze Star that he earned during his service time.
Mr. Bennett was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in North Attleboro. His love for the great outdoors was exemplified by his magnificent flower gardens at his home in |

Brother Robert L. Nichols, M.S. of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette died on March 1, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston at age 62. He was born in Southbridge on September 30, 1945, son of Anna J. (Metras) Nicholas of Southbridge and the late Gerard J. Nichols. He attended Notre Dame Grammar and High Schools in Southbridge, graduating in June of 1964. He completed Pre-Novitiate formation for the La Salette Missionaries at La Salette Seminary in East Brewster and entered the Novitiate in Center Harbor, NH in July 1965 making First Profession on July 2, 1966. His Juniorate program for newly professed brothers was in East Brewster for the first year and at the La Salette Provincial House in Attleboro for the second year. In the summer of 1968 he was assigned to East Brewster and temporarily to the Novitiate in Center Harbor.
