at Providence Children’s Museum

Providence Children’s Museum is the best place for school vacation fun!  The Museum is open daily during February school vacation, February 13 through 21, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  Enjoy these special programs and performances:

Tuesday, February 16  •  1:00 & 2:00 PM

Join popular singer and storyteller Keith Munslow for a unique mix of funny, original tunes, tales and tongue-twisting rhymes.  It’s an upbeat, lively performance packed with tinkling piano tunes and audience participation.  Ages 3 – 11   

The Magic of Science
Wednesday, February 17  •  1:00 & 2:00 PM

“Marvelous Marvin” Novogrodski leads aspiring young scientists on a magical exploration of scientific experimentation and the art of invention.  Learn about air pressure, carbon dioxide and the invention of the wheel and get plenty of ideas for simple experiments to try at home.  Ages 4 – 11

B Fun WingmastersWingmasters
Thursday, February 18  •  10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM & 2:00 PM

Families learn about majestic birds of prey with licensed raptor rehabilitator Julie Collier.  Meet a glorious golden eagle, a tiny owl, a red-tailed hawk, a falcon and other magnificent raptors.  Ages 3 – 11

Family Fun Night
Fri., February 19  •  5:00 – 8:00 PM

Admission is free at 5:00 PM.  Families can stay out late, splash, play, explore and discover and join in hands-on science challenges in the FETCH!™ Lab.

Be An Engineer
Sat., February 20  •  Noon – 3:00 PM

Kids explore the world of engineering at five fun-filled activity stations in celebration of National Engineers Week.  Program a human robot, experiment with electrical conductivity, make oobleck and more, plus take home National Engineers Week bookmarks, stickers and coloring book.  Ages 5 – 11
Presented by the Society of Women Engineers.

Providence Children’s Museum – a joyful place for children and families.

The Museum is located at 100 South Street in Providence’s Jewelry District.  September through March, open Tuesday through Sunday and Monday school holidays, 9 AM to 6 PM, and selected Fridays until 8 PM.  April through August, open 7 days.  Unless indicated, programs are free with Museum admission of $7.50 per person; admission is always free for Museum members.  Call (401) 273-KIDS or visit www.childrenmuseum.org.

    I have been to the Providence children’s museum on numeruous occassions and highly recommend it! Lot’s of interesting things to do for the kids and fun for all! It will be a very enjoyable day for all!
