Voyage to Vietnam: Celebrating the Tet Festival showcases traditions, customs and values exemplified by the annual celebration of Tet. Through interactive exhibits, families will immerse themselves in Vietnamese culture, gain appreciation for traditions, values and daily experiences of people who live in Vietnam, and discover similarities and differences between their lives in the U.S. and the lives of children in Vietnam.?? Funded through a highly competitive national initiative by the Freeman Foundation Asian Culture Exhibit Series, and developed by Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose, the Voyage to Vietnam exhibition is traveling to nine children’s museums as part of a national tour.

Celebrate Providence Children???s Museum???s 40th??anniversary at a wild??Birthday Bash??with??free admission,??special membership discounts and giveaways,??and fun for the whole family.??Make festive party hats and noise makers for a birthday parade, enjoy special performances, and help blow out the candles on a giant birthday cake. Museum admission is free from 9AM to 6PM.
Tell Your Story: Explore Your Roots

Who helps you grow??? Explore your roots and create a tree that represents you, use maps to explore history and ancestry, and add your own piece of history to our community board.?? Presented in celebration of the Museum???s new Coming to Rhode Island exhibit ??? a time-traveling exploration of history and culture through stories.

Kids stack and build with big blue foam blocks, wheels, spools, tubes and a variety of loose parts to construct castles and forts, invent interesting sculptures and more!??

Kids build and explore with Legos, cardboard squares and other assorted building materials.
Get Out! Mud Play

Get out and play in the Museum???s Children’s Garden each Tuesday afternoon in July and August.?? Dig, scoop and build with mud and natural materials and mold marvelous mud pies.

Summer reading kick-off! From 5:30-7:30, children ages 4-10 can dig into reading!?? Start off a summer of reading with activities and recommended booklists from children???s librarians.?? Get involved in the summer reading program with your local library. Presented by The Rhode Island Office of Library and Information Services.
