PAWTUCKET, RI ??? Pawtucket???s 20/20 Committee Co-Chairs Sandra Cano and Mark House today announced the creation of a new website, theballparkatslatermill.com, to address questions regarding the proposal to build a ballpark in downtown Pawtucket, and to articulate the catalytic effects a new ballpark would have on downtown Pawtucket.

The website offers documents that contrast the proposal for the Ballpark at Slater Mill with the failed 38 Studios deal, and that demonstrate the differences between the current proposal and the failed 2015 Providence ballpark proposal.

In addition, the website includes artistic renderings, potential development sites surrounding the ballpark, an Economic Analysis performed by Brailsford & Dunlavey, and the McCoy Study produced by Pendulum Studio.

Materials included in the website were produced for and by the City of Pawtucket, the Pawtucket Red Sox, and/or the State of Rhode Island (McCoy Study).

Pawtucket???s 20/20 Vision was launched April 3, 2017, by Mayor Donald R. Grebien. The vision includes development already underway as well as future plans for the riverfront and downtown areas, including the commuter rail station and transit hub, the bikeway, and new businesses investing in the city.??

Pawtucket???s 20/20 Committee is an independent group focused on building a representative coalition from the community to advocate for Pawtucket???s 20/20 Development Vision, increase public awareness and input, attract additional financial investments, promote projects to completion, and encourage business and community activation. The 20/20 Committee is interested in the potential of a ballpark to serve as a catalyst of redevelopment for Downtown Pawtucket.?? The committee will focus on the ballpark development, then expand its advocacy to build upon all projects in the Growth Center District.

Sandra Cano is a Pawtucket City Councilor At-Large and Assistant Vice President of Business and Community Development at Navigant Credit Union. She is also on the board of directors of the YWCA of Rhode Island, Latino Public Radio, ECAS Theater, RI Latino Arts and Serve Rhode Island.??

Mark House is the Vice President and Senior Scientist at Environmental Strategies and Management. He sits on the Pawtucket Foundation Board, as well as the Pawtucket YMCA Board of Directors. He is the owner of the renovated mill complex at 65 Blackstone Avenue in Pawtucket.

The website includes an opportunity for citizens to add their name to the Pawtucket 20/20 coalition.
