SENEDIA Golf Tournament raised $5,000 in support of project

??NEWPORT (September 12, 2017)??? The Rhode Island Military Operations (RIMO) will receive a $5,000 donation from the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA) today in support of improvements of the Military Lounge at T.F. Green Airport.?? The funds were raised through a raffle at the 15th Annual Golf Tournament that took place in June.

The Military Lounge, founded in 2013, provides a place for relaxation, communication with loved ones while traveling and resources for arranging unexpected travel plans.?? ???Over 100 SENEDIA members participated in the golf tournament to benefit Rhode Island service members and their families.?? Tens-of-thousands active and retired members of the military from across New England deserve a place to gather during their travels through our state,??? said SENENDIA Executive Director Molly Donohue Magee.

The tournament was made possible through donors and sponsors, including Adler Pollock and Sheehan P.C., Aerotek, Balfour Beatty, Dell, General Dynamics, iXblue, L3, Lee’s Market, Liana Fenton, McLaughlin Research Corp., Mercury Systems, MIKEL, Monti’s Maple Farm & Winery, PURVIS Systems, Raytheon, Rite-Solutions, SAIC, SEA Corp., Star Engineering, and Titleist.????

???We are proud to partner with Rhode Island businesses, nonprofits, unions, the military, government, civic organizations and volunteers in helping to support this space for the people who deserve it most,??? said Magee.?? ???We look forward to seeing the great work that the RIMO will continue to do.???

The RIMO lounge is located on the second floor of the airport, in the hallway behind the Delta ticket counters, next to the Hope Reflection Room.?? Volunteers are in the room daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Rhode Island Military Organization is a non-profit group serving RI service members and their families in a variety of ways. Always looking to better the lives of those who have served or who are currently serving, every penny raised in all fundraising events stays in RI. The Board of Directors is fully volunteer with military and/or professional backgrounds in various areas.
