Why not hunt some ghosts at Old Slater Mill this October?

(Pawtucket, RI)?? Looking to bust a ghost this Halloween??? Then Old Slater Mill has some opportunities in store, in America???s first textile factory, and a known site for other-worldly activity.

In observance of the season, Slater Mill presents its traditional Paranormal Investigation programming on the last two weekends of October.

Two types of investigations are on tap this month:?? the mill???s long-running Mill & Mysteries Paranormal Investigations with Rhode Island paranormalist Carl L. Johnson, and four History Research Paranormal Investigation events, for which Thomas D???Agostino and Arlene Nicholson will employ technology including EVP, as well as the reading of Tarot Cards, to conjure the spirits.

On Thursdays, October 18 and 25, you can join Johnson for a 90-minute exploration of three buildings on the Old Slater Mill campus, starting at 8:30 p.m. (door at 8).?? Known for his work in demonology, and his knowledge of all things Poe and Lovecraft, Johnson has an intimate knowledge of the Rhode Island landmark, having conducted nearly 100 investigations at the mill over more than ten years, and also due to his work as a member of the museum tour guide staff.??

???By my perspective, we cannot have the ???haunting??? without the history,??? says Johnson. ???The mills have memories, and at time they are willing to share those with us.???

In addition to Johnson, noted New England paranormalists and authors Thomas D???Agostino and Arlene Nicholson will lead the investigations on Fridays and Saturdays, October 19, 20, 26 and 27.?? Guests join the investigations for 60 minutes, with multiple tour start times available.

D???Agostino and Nicholson are well known among the paranormal community and beyond, having authored numerous books on the subject of New England ghosts.?? Their most recent release, Ghosts of the Blackstone Valley, will be available for purchase, as will their other books including Haunted Ramtail Factory, and A Guide to Haunted New England.

For all investigation programs, guests will join these professional ghost busters in the 1793 Old Slater Mill, the basement wheel pit of the 1810 Wilkinson Mill, and the sitting room of the 1758 Sylvanus Brown House ??? rather chilling places to be after dark.

Tickets are available at Brownpapertickets.com (search ???Slater Mill), or by calling 401-725-8638 x.100 during business hours.?? Admission on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. is $18.00 per person. Admission on Friday and Saturday at 8:00, 8:20, 9:00, 9:20 or 10:00 p.m. is $22.00 per person. Guests must be age 15 or older to attend, and under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
