MASSACHUSETTS EDUCATION PROMISE ACT
Friday, at a key hearing on school finance reform, I stood with hundreds of students, parents, educators, mayors, civil rights advocates, technology leaders, and a few Patriots players to support the Education PROMISE Act.
The PROMISE Act is the only bill before the committee that implements all five recommendations of the bipartisan Foundation Budget Review Commission (FBRC) — including equity provisions to stop under funding classrooms and help close the achievement gap.
I told the Committee what I’ve been hearing from students, parents, and educators for years. We must fulfill the promise we made in our Constitution and again in the 1993 Education Reform Act: that zip code should not be destiny.
Together, I know that we can pass the critical reforms we need to do right by all our children in the Commonwealth.
