ACT AUDITIONS
Attleboro Community Theatre kicks off its 60th season with the famed, Tony Award-winning play, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, written by Dale Wasserman (adapted from the novel by Ken Kesey) and directed by Dave Blessinger.
Randle McMurphy, a charming rogue, contrives to serve a short sentence in an airy mental institution, rather than in prison. This, he learns, is a mistake, as he immediately clashes with the fierce head nurse, who ???corrects??? by means of shock treatment. Much to Nurse Ratched???s dismay, McMurphy quickly takes over the yard by leading his comrades out of introversion, staging a revolt to see the World Series on television, and arranging a rollicking midnight party with liquor and chippies. The party is too horrid for Nurse Ratched, who forces McMurphy to submit to a terrifying, final correction.
Auditions will be held on July 18th and 19th beginning at 7pm sharp both nights. Auditions are open to all and will consist of a 1-2 minute prepared monologue and cold readings from the script. Though it is not required to attend both nights, the director welcomes all to do so if able.
ACT is looking to cast at least 13 men and 4 women across wide age ranges.
In order to be considered for the production, all actors must be able to commit to three rehearsals a week, be available for tech week, and perform in all nine shows which include: 9/30, 10/1, 10/2, 10/7, 10/8, 10/9, 10/14, 10/15, and 10/16.
